Persuasive writing Term 3 Week 4

WALT persuade other students to agree with our opinion.  This the purpose for my writing.

Success Criteria:

1. I plan for a writing task
2. I write a variety of sentence lengths with different sentence starters
3. Give reasons with detail - use specific words
4. I write most topic and high frequency words correctly.
5. I use capital letters, fullstops, question marks and exclamation marks correctly.
6. Use persuasive language

WE SHOULD ALLOW PETS IN SCHOOL

I strongly believe that pets should be in school.

I think pets should be in school because they can be trained to help other people with lots of stuff. All pets are useful for lots of problems, for example, a cat can be helpful, say there was a mouse then a cat can help by chasing it out of the classroom. We could all we have a turn of bringing one pet each day.

Pets can be in school because they are cuddly and so warm and soft to cuddle with in the daytime. When you’re alone in the playground you snuggle up and play around with them. Pets can be cute, dogs can beg for stuff with big sad eyes that are so round and and cute.

Finally you need to find suitable pets to bring to school like a dog, a cat or a bird or something that we can have in school. To keep your pets safe you need to close the doors and if you have a bird you must keep it In its cage. To keep the school safe you need to not bring large animals, like if you have an elephant for a pet it would crash the whole school into bits.

Finally, I believe that pets can be in school.

Skimming Reading Stratagy Week 2 Term 3

WALT skim an unknown text so that we can QUICKLY get an understanding of it.
I can decide if a book has useful information I need or whether I want to read it for pleasure.
These are the things I can do to skim read.
1 You can look at the title
2 You look at the chapters
3 Read the blerb
4 Look at the contents
5 Look at the pictures

Area - Week 6

We've been learning about Area, we've been doing area for quite a while. We learned about rows and columns.  We even made a bus with rows and columns.  Rows means right across and columns means come on down. 
Area is the total number of square units inside a shape. So just say that there was 5 rows and 10 columns - that would be 5 times 10 equals 50 square units.

The Amazing World of Gumball - Week 5.

This is the Gumballs family.  Richard, his father is the funny one but Gumball and Darwin are way funnier than Richard.

 

Gumbell really likes a girl called Penny.    All of these people are in gumballs class.       

Match Sticks - Week 3

On Wednesday my class and I were making our names out of match sticks. I chose to do my name 20cm tall, we all  had to make our names out of 50 match sticks.  The learning was that the starting point and finishing point are very important.                                                                                                                                                                                          

The Ice Princess and the Fire Queen - Week two.

• Queen Elsa's powers have suddenly turned into fire.  Anna got Elsa's power and Elsa turned evil.
•  Anna's not evil like her sister, Anna is still very nice. 
• Elsa wants to have the whole world to herself just like her mum and dad, so she killed her parents and then she got crownd queen.  She ordered the guards to tell the whole world that Elsa was the new ruler of the world. 
• Next Elsa turned the whole castle into fire, the castle didn't burn or kill everyone it just stayed on fire for a very long time. 

Evil Pony

Hi, my name is Twilight Sparkle and I'm one of Princess Celestas evil princess students.

I am purple with a pink star cutie mark on the side of my back. I

also have a sparkly pink crown.

Its me - Evil Twilight Sparkle since I'm evil no one can stop me ha ha ha.  I have big purple wings and I'm not a very good flyer. 
If you want to know my evil friends I will tell you their names now. Their names are Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow, Dash, Flutter, Shy and Apple Jack.









I'm evil Flutter Shy, I'm the evilest pony ever, so no one can stop my plans.

Ormie the pig

In my class we watched a video called ormie the pig and this is what I think it ends like... 

Ormie is about to jump off a plane to get the cookies.
When he jumps off the plane he lands on his face with a THUD! Ormie was being really being silly and he tripped and fell onto ten fireworks. His pigtail lifted the fireworks and he flew all around the fridge and when the fireworks exploded Ormie's bottom got all burnt.
Ormie was so excited to get the cookies that he climbed all the way up the fridge and got the cookies and he lived happily ever after.

My Swimming Reflection

I learned how to… float on life jackets properly.

Something I found challenging was… swimming and floating on the buckets.

At the end of the year I would like to improve on… diving into the pool properly.

Mrs Miller, Mr Kenny or Mrs Lowe could help me by… I was happy with everything that we did.

The best part about swimming was… being able to play in the life jacket.

Book Character Dress Up Day

Here is a photo of me in my Elsa costume.

Today the school had a book character costume day.  I came as queen Elsa, when my friend Emma came to school I saw that she was Elsa as well so we decided to be the Elsa twins.

My Buddy from room 6 & 7

Today I went with my class room 12 to room 6 & 7 to meet our buddies.  My buddy is a girl, her name is Saphaia.  She is 5 years old like everyone else in her class.  She has a twin sister called Zaeanaliyah.

My Super Hero Description Diamond Lady

My superhero lives in her secret lair.  Her lair has lots of gadgets, my superheroes name is Diamond Lady.  She has sparkly blue fairy wings.  She has a shiny yellow tiara, a necklace and a yellow diamond on her chest.  She has a long brown tail and long brown hair with long plaits.  She has an orange flaming torch.  She wears a long silk dress, she has a dark, dark mask, gloves and dark tights and she has shiny golden shoes.  My superhero is very nice, she is respectful and she is helpful.  She flies all around the world with her wings, she can save people all around the world with her powers and she can defeat bad guys.  She can see people with her super vision and she can kick people to defeat the baddies.

Helping Hands

Room 12 has been doing maths with hands. We have been learning about translation, rotation and reflection.
